Unaccompanied Children
- The unaccompanied child must be 6 to 12 years of age inclusive.
- Children under the age of six must be accompanied by someone age 13 or older.
- A maximum of three (3) children per family will be allowed to travel before adult supervision is required. When three (3) Unaccompanied Children are travelling together, the eldest child must be at least ten (10) years old.
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
When making a booking for an Unaccompanied child, request your child's seat be as close as possible to the front of the coach. The earlier the booking is completed the better chance your child has of sitting at the front.
- Unaccompanied children can only board and disembark our coaches at our Downtown Main Ticket Office locations in Calgary, Edmonton and Fort McMurray*. (* Exceptions being UAC's travelling from Grassland or Red Deer.)
- The Ticket Office at the destination point must be open at the scheduled arrival time. See attached list of our available schedules.
- Parent/Guardian must read and sign the Unaccompanied Child form. Parent/Guardian will remain with the child until boarding of the coach commences.
- It is the Parent's/Guardian's responsibility to ensure the following guidelines are adhered to. The unaccompanied child must:
- Be seated as close as possible to the front of the coach
- Always receive Operator's permission to leave the coach
- Remain seated while coach is moving
- Advise Operator if they are being disturbed
- Advise Operator if they need help
- Upon arrival at the destination, the child will remain on the coach until all other passengers have disembarked.
- A Customer Service Representative will go on the coach to bring the child to the receiving Parent or Guardian.
- Parents/Guardians and children must be aware and understand the importance of obeying the Operator's instructions at all times.
- Parent/Guardian understands that, should the child not be met at the destination, the Parent/Guardian authorizes Red Arrow Express Ltd. to take whatever action considered necessary to arrange for the child's custody and the Parent/Guardian agrees to reimburse Red Arrow Express Ltd. for any necessary and reasonable costs incurred in taking such action.
- The person identified to meet the child must present identification and sign the Unaccompanied Child form. It is the Parent's responsibility to ensure that the receiving party is informed of our policy, and adheres to it. Receiving parties must be at our Ticket Office 15 minutes prior to Scheduled Arrival Time.
- Unaccompanied Children are not permitted to get off the coach in Red Deer during our stop. Unaccompanied children in Grassland are to accompany the Operator into the restaurant and sit at the Operator's table.
